Making of “T.O – FW12 Collection” – Part 1
My FW12 Collection of separates was inspired by my first fall in Toronto city. shortly after immigrating to Canada in 2004, we witnessed our first fall in this beautiful city. It was an experience beyond words….and felt like God filled this bucket with many warm hues and splashed it across the city. I and my four year old son spent hours collecting leaves, seeds and berries of all imaginable colours. At one point we filled our whole one bedroom apartment with colour and texture. Ever since this season brings back sweet memories of our first brush with this great North American city we call home now. In an attempt to trace these memories, I ended up abstracting the imagery of seeds, berries, Fall on Lake Ontario, Toronto Skyline, gleaming high rises at night and the unforgettable experience of “Riding the Rocket”.
This collection is a tribute to Toronto….”God made a home for all races and named it Toronto”.
